SOLVENTUM's Protemp Crown temporary crowns come as preformed composite shells, malleable before curing. After selecting the appropriate size and trimming the edges with scissors if needed, the practitioner shapes it directly onto the prepared tooth using finger pressure, has the patient bite down to re-establish occlusion, then cures the whole crown with a 2-3 second light exposure on the buccal, lingual and occlusal surfaces. After a one-minute post-cure outside the mouth, the crown is finished with a bur and cemented with temporary cement. This approach eliminates the need for an impression and a separate filling material, usually required with traditional shell crowns, delivering a result in just a few minutes chairside, with good proximal contacts. Sold in packs of 5, these crowns are particularly well suited to fractured teeth and emergency build-ups.
