UnoDent PGLC (ref. SEU530) is a high-quality sterile resorbable surgical suture, a synthetic monofilament of Poliglecaprone 25, prepared from glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone. Undyed.
Unlike braided sutures (such as PGLA), the monofilament structure greatly reduces tissue drag and capillary wicking (bacterial migration along interstices), lowering infection risk. The thread is very pliable, with low memory, making tissue passage easier, but requires more knot throws due to lower knot security than braided sutures.
Suited to procedures requiring rapid resorption and very short-term wound support: subcutaneous, subcuticular closures, soft tissue and mucosal approximation. Manufacturer-stated resorption time: 21 to 24 days.
