The TK1-1S tip from ACTEON belongs to the BDR (Biofilm Disruption and Removal) range, dedicated to gentle, atraumatic periodontal maintenance. Its fine, tapered shape, similar to a periodontal probe, is graduated every 3 mm, allowing the practitioner to gauge pocket depth during treatment. It works through ultrasonic micro-cavitation to disrupt subgingival biofilm without aggressive abrasive action, making it particularly suited to shallow-to-moderate pockets (<4 mm) and routine maintenance protocols, including around implants.
The TK1-1S is the short version of the TK1 tip, to be distinguished from the long version TK1-1L (same shape, longer working length), and from the TK2 series (left/right angled tips designed for premolar/molar sectors). It is used with an ACTEON-compatible ultrasonic generator, ideally alongside manual scaling.
