The Woodpecker TFRK (Terauchi File Removal Kit) was developed in collaboration with endodontist Dr. Yoshi Terauchi to address the most complex canal anatomies when removing fractured instruments. It brings together nine complementary instruments, designed to suit each stage of the procedure.
To widen the canal up to the fragment, the kit includes a Ni-Ti K6 rotary file (#60, 2% taper), a Gates Glidden #3 drill and a micro-trephine (internal Ø0.5mm / external Ø0.8mm), to be used according to the coronal diameter of the broken file and the canal curvature. Three ultrasonic tips complete the set, used to create clearance space and remove the fragment, available in two thread variants (see below).
When ultrasonic vibration alone is not enough, the Yoshi Loop file extractor allows the fractured file to be retrieved: its replaceable cannula comes in two wire diameters (0.12mm and 0.08mm) to suit different clinical situations. Two stainless steel probes (micro-endo and gutta-percha removal) and a silicone polishing tip complete the kit, all housed in an autoclavable cassette.
The kit is available in two versions depending on the ultrasonic tip threading: a Woodpecker/EMS-compatible version with the E87, E88 and E89 tips, and a DTE/Satelec-compatible version with the ED87, ED88 and ED89 tips.
