Bestdent stainless steel matrix band, 0.05mm thick, sold as a 3m roll to be cut to the length needed for each tooth. Available in 5, 6 or 7mm widths, suited to different tooth sizes and cavity depths.
Used in restorative dentistry to temporarily rebuild a missing proximal wall when preparing a Class II cavity, allowing composite or amalgam material to be contained and shaped during placement, preventing overflow into the interproximal space. Used with a matrix retainer (Tofflemire-type) or matrix band holder, usually combined with wooden wedges to ensure cervical sealing.
Its thinness (0.05mm) promotes a more precise interproximal contact and easier adaptation to the tooth contour compared to thicker bands.
