During root surface debridement or periodontal surgery, hand instruments can sometimes leave irregularities on the root that encourage plaque retention. The PP1 tip is used at this stage to smooth and polish the root surface, below the gum line, with the precision of Piezosurgery technology. As the main polishing tip in Mectron's periodontal range, it complements scaling by refining the result on subgingival areas that are hard to reach with hand instruments. It is part of the brand's periodontal surgery kit.
