The long version of the TK1 tip, the TK1-1L from ACTEON is part of the BDR (Biofilm Disruption and Removal) range. Its extended working length compared to the TK1-1S allows easier access to deep periodontal pockets and hard-to-reach posterior sectors, while retaining the same fine, tapered shape, graduated every 3 mm to track probing depth during treatment.
Like the entire BDR range, it works through ultrasonic micro-cavitation, gently and atraumatically disrupting subgingival biofilm without abrasive action. It differs from the TK1-1S (same shape, short version for easily accessible areas), and from the TK2 series (left/right angled tips for premolar/molar sectors). Used with an ACTEON-compatible ultrasonic generator, alongside manual scaling.
