A distinctive feature of the IM2.8P: a double irrigation system, designed to dissipate the heat generated during bone drilling and limit the risk of thermal necrosis, a key concern when preparing an implant site. With a 2.8 mm diameter, it is used at the end of the drilling sequence, to widen or finalise the site preparation already started with smaller-diameter inserts (such as the IM2P), in the posterior regions of the maxilla. Made for Mectron Piezosurgery handpieces, it features a titanium nitride coating that increases wear resistance, and is reusable after sterilisation like the brand's other surgical tips.
